Meet Andrea, one of our top sales performers at the KR Group. Andrea has recently celebrated two years’ service so we talked to Andrea about her career to date within the Estate Planning department.
Andrea came from a background in telephone banking dealing with customers on a daily basis but had no knowledge whatsoever of wills or powers of attorney. Since starting at Key, she has been so successful that Andrea has been promoted twice and is now an Executive Estate Planner. With a UK population of 51 million adults and less than 40% having a Will in place, the sales opportunity is massive.
It’s not surprising to hear that Andrea is now someone the team can call upon to help answer questions, support interviews and coach new starters. It is fair to say Andrea enjoys developing new members of the team and guiding new colleagues to be successful.
Andrea’s typical day includes calling customers to provide them with the features and benefits of putting a Lasting Power of Attorney and Will in place. She obtains the information from the customers and then creates the paperwork. You have to be able to engage with the customer, help them to understand the importance of having a Will and a Lasting Power of Attorney whilst discussing very personal information.
This a role where you cannot look for shortcuts. For example, the average call time is 30-60 minutes and the daily activities also involve significant amounts of paperwork.
